Major Graham Mansion

Overview

Long rumored as haunted, the Major Graham Mansion was officially deemed "haunted" by the Virginia Paranormal Society in 2007. With three years of ongoing paranormal investigation data from VPS and other paranormal groups, the mansion is a destination for ghost hunters and history buffs alike. Seasonal tours, overnight stays with paranormal investigators, a Halloween spooktacular called "SpookyWorldUSA.com", and a July 4th music festival called "GrahamFestUSA.com" welcome visitors throughout the year.

History

Patriarc and Irish imigrant Robert Graham and his family arrived in the colonies and served in the Revolutionary War in the 1770s. His son, Squire David Graham built the Graham estate with a successful iron forge business in southwestern Virginia. His son, Major David Graham and mansion namesake, formed Company B called the "Wythe Grays" of the 51st Virginia regiment and served in the Civil War. The Major Graham Mansion and grounds are authentic and in excellent condition. In the late 1700s, then property owner and resident Joseph Baker was murdered by his slaves where the mansion now stands. Mansion history includes this murder, stories of the slaves' lives, a matriarc who goes mad and is locked up in the mansion, and many other tales. Ghost walk tours and history tours are available seasonally to those who dare visit the mansion.

Paranormal Claims

Over three years of ongoing investigations by the Virginia Paranormal Society and a plethera of other scientifically-based paranormal groups have yielded hundreds of evps and reported sightings. From a Civil War orphan's apparition and recordings to Squire David's "GET OUT" recordings, paranormal data supporting the label "OFFICIALLY HAUNTED" are well founded.
