Overview

Hi I'm Julie and I own The Center Bar or it owns me depending on how you look at it. This Bar has been in my Family 1972. My parents bought it and ran it for over 30 years then my ex and I bought it from them. My Sister, Daughters and Son-in-law help me manage the Bar, carrying on the family tradition.

History

The Center Bar is located on Gillette Ave. near the railroad tracks where the town of Gillette started. We have photos dating from 1936 to present. In 2007 we were in Esquire's magazines "Best Bars In America"

Paranormal Claims

My mother did an oil painting similar to a painting called "All is Vanity" that depicts an old fashioned woman looking in a mirror. But from a distance it looks like a skull. Her painting has hung in the Bar since she painted it in 1984. Approx. 5 years ago one of our customers came out of the mens bathroom saying that there was skull on the wall, my daughter went in and took 3 photos with her phone, I will try to include those photos. There are meny meny things that go on. Locked doors opening, objects moving, sounds, music playing. Most recently my Son-in-law was working in office early one morning before the Bar was open. he noticed movement on the surveillance cameras and seen a woman buy the front door and took photos. Everyone that works here has a story of some kind experience. We don't feel anything evil. My daughter had a dream that old customers that had passed we stopping in and I like that theory.
